Red, White, and Blue Snow Cone Cupcakes

Snow Cone Cupcakes

Looking for a last-minute Fourth of July treat that is fun to do with your kids? Look no further! At first glance these cupcakes easily pass as snow cones! After spotting these Bakerella Snow Cone Cupcakes, I thought it would be great to trick my kids by using Paper Cone Cups from Garnish and stripped straws. Here’s what you’ll need:

Your favorite homemade or store-bought Vanilla Cake Mix

Buttercream Frosting

Red, White, and Blue Sparkling Sugar (Sprinkles)

Striped Straws (found at party/craft stores)

Paper Cone Cups

Bake your favorite Vanilla cake mix. Let your kids spread  buttercream frosting on the top (don’t worry if it’s not perfect, you’ll cover it in sprinkles). Separate your sprinkles into three different containers. Dip your frosted cupcake into the sprinkles, making sure to cover it completely. Do this for each color. Cut your straw into three even pieces. Place your straw at an angle so that it’s  peeking out of the cupcake. Place your cupcake into the Paper Cone Cup.

First I hot glued styrofoam to the bottom of a Quart Size Rectangle Box. Next I hot glued the Paper Cone Cups to the Styrofoam. Finally I used brown paper filler to fill my basket.
